Criminal Record Check Quick Guide

Criminal Record Check Quick Guide

All applicants for an MSL will need current BCI & FBI criminal record checks before a new MSL license or MSL conversion can take place.

Through WebCheck, agencies transmit fingerprints and other data electronically to BCI, to be compared against a database of criminal fingerprints to determine if an individual has a criminal record. BCI then issues a background report.

  • Be sure to request OBN as the Direct Copy Receiver and use code ORC 4723.091 for the reason for fingerprints.
  • For questions regarding criminal record checks, please reach out to BCI directly at 877-224-0043.
